RTA Expands Bus Service across New Orleans

The Regional Transit Authority in New Orleans is launching a bus service expansion on September 21, 2014. This service expansion reflects a total investment by the RTA Board of Commissioners of $5 million in new, restored and improved bus routes, offering more frequent connections, express buses, and seven-day a week service. One of the key goals of this bus service expansion is to provide equitable transit services for every citizen to the fullest extent our funding allows.

New and Restored Service

Starting September 21, new and restored bus lines will serve Algiers and Federal City, New Orleans East, Leonidas, Hollygrove, Mid-City, Treme, Gentilly, Seventh Ward, St. Roch, Desire, Gentilly Woods and Pontchartrain Park.  To improve service reliability, three existing bus lines will either have route changes (10-Tchoupitoulas) or timetable changes (Line 11-Magazine and Line 27-Louisiana).
