What is the Cemeteries Transit Center Project?

The RTA started construction on the Cemeteries Transit Center Project at the intersections of Canal Street and City Park Avenue, and at the intersection of Canal Boulevard and City Park Avenue on July 31, 2017, at 7 am. Service changes and detours began on July 30, 2017. The purpose of this project is to build a greatly improved transfer center on Canal Boulevard north of City Park Avenue.

The intersection was opened to motorists on Monday, December 4, 2017. Buses and streetcars began using the transit center on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

If you have questions about bus and streetcar detours, call RTA Rideline at (504) 248-3900.
