RTA and JeT Partner on Customer Services

  • October 22nd, 2018
Calls will be routed to one call center.

What: Riders will be able to call one customer service phone number, Ride Line 504-248-3900, to get information on both transit systems.

When: Starting Sunday, November 4th

How: Transit Riders in the region can call Ride Line at 504-248-3900

Why: In the spirit of collaboration, the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will be receiving customer service calls for Jefferson Transit (JeT). This new agreement is part of both transit systems’ joint efforts to improve regional transit service between the City of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish and make the riding experience as seamless as possible for riders in the region.

Riders will simply call one customer service phone number, Ride Line 504-248-3900, to get transit information related to both systems. Customer care representatives will field calls related to time points and locations for Jefferson Transit commuters. Jefferson Transit riders can still call 504-367-7433 for lost and found, complaints, comments, or other non-schedule related issues.

This new initiative, going into effect next month, is another step in our on-going commitment to regional public transit connectivity between the City of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish.

In August, the New Orleans City Council and the Jefferson Parish Council adopted resolutions calling for the implementation and expansion of regional transit. Subsequently, the following regional initiatives have been implemented:
  • Regional Ride Pilot Program - The six-month pilot program grants bus riders all-day access to both RTA and JeT bus lines for $6.00, eliminating the need for separate passes.
  • #39 Tulane Extension – The RTA’s #39 bus line travels beyond Mistletoe Street and S. Claiborne to Causeway Boulevard and Jefferson Highway, providing easier access for Ochsner employees, as well as patients and their families.
  • #16 S. Claiborne (extended hours) –The RTA’s #16 bus line now provides 24-hour service to match the 24-hour service provided on the #39 Tulane bus line. This service enhancement delivers a needed 24-hour transit corridor through Uptown, while also expanding access to healthcare.
  • Customer Service Call Center (starting Nov. 4) – JeT and RTA Riders will be able to call Ride Line at 504-248-3900 to get transit information on both transit systems.
