The RTA Board of Commissioners is composed of eight publicly appointed representatives. Five representatives are appointed by the Mayor of New Orleans, and three representatives are appointed by the President of Jefferson Parish.
Our executive team is led by the RTA CEO who reports directly to the Regional Transit Authority Board of Commissioners. This team is responsible for leading the agency and executing the goals of the RTA.
We believe in leveling the playing field so that all businesses can compete to work on our transit projects. We value diversity and are committed to working with local businesses.
Your opinion matters. We connect, listen, learn and adapt to meet the needs of today and tomorrow.
Local sales taxes make up about half of RTA’s total funding. The rest comes from federal grants, fares, interest earnings and miscellaneous revenue.
We are looking for a team of energetic, talented ambassadors with a passion for helping people move forward.
We are accountable to you and strive for transparency – from cost and project controls, outside audits and oversight, and clearly defined and updated milestones.
Diversity, equity and inclusion makes us stronger, as individuals and as an organization. We are committed to creating equitable processes and outcomes across our region.
From the earliest days of the St. Charles streetcar dating back to 1835, the RTA has a long and storied history.
