The procession starts at the Mahalia Jackson parking lot on N. Villere St. and turns right onto N. Villere St., then turns left onto Esplanade Ave., then turns right onto N. Claiborne Ave. At Allen St., the parade makes a U-turn and stops at Hunter's Field, where the casket is moved from the horse-drawn carriage to the hearse. The parade then continues up N. Claiborne Ave. and stops briefly at Kelerec St. for a short ceremony before continuing up N. Claiborne Ave. to Esplanade Ave., where it turns right and proceeds to St. Louis Cemetery #3, where it ends.
