Decatur Street Shutdown for Sugar Bowl Parade & New Year's Eve

Bus & Streetcar Service 

December 30 – January 1
#5 Marigny-Bywater and #55-Elysian Fields Bus Lines -  Service will stop at Esplanade Avenue and Decatur Street.  Passenger will board the Canal Streetcar at the French Market to continue their journey to Canal Street.
 
Monday, December 31, 2018

  • Canal Streetcar: Beginning at 9:00 p.m., until the fireworks are cleared, the Canal Streetcar will not run on the riverfront. All streetcars will stop at Harrah’s Casino. 

  • Buses/Streetcars: Bus and Streetcar service will operate on the Saturday schedule.

 Wednesday, January 2, 2019
#5 Marigny-Bywater and #55 Elysian Fields will resume with normal service
 

Ferry Service

  • Fireworks – Operations suspended immediately before and during fireworks, as directed by the U.S. Coast Guard
  • Canal Street / Algiers Ferry – Extended Hours of Operation for 12/31/2018
    • Algiers Point final departure time – 1 AM (Tuesday, January 1, 2019)
    • Canal Street final departure time – 1:15 AM (Tuesday, January 1, 2019)
    • Normal operations resume Jan. 1, 2019 (6 AM – 9:45 PM)
    • Chalmette Ferry – No changes: normal schedule (6 AM – 8:45 PM)
