New Orleans RTA Announces Temporary Detour for Route 103 General Meyer Local Due to Unexpected DOTD Road Construction

NEW ORLEANS, LA — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) announced today that, due to a last-minute Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) road construction project on General Meyer Avenue between Behrman Avenue and Pace Boulevard, Route 103 General Meyer Local will operate on a temporary detour.
The detour will be in effect nightly from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM for an estimated seven or more weeks. Riders should anticipate service changes and plan accordingly.
Impacted Stops (Closed During Detour):
Inbound (toward downtown):
- General Meyer at Pace
- General Meyer at Deborah
- General Meyer at Shirley
- General Meyer at Farragut
- General Meyer at Behrman
- Opelousas at Hendee
Outbound (away from downtown):
- Newton at Hendee
- Newton at Behrman
- General Meyer at Farragut
- General Meyer at Shirley
- General Meyer at Florence Park
- General Meyer at Southlawn
Alternate Stops Available:
- General Meyer & Pace (outbound side only)
- L.B. Landry & Newton
Riders are encouraged to use alternate stops when possible and allow extra travel time while this detour is in place.
