New Orleans RTA offices to close on Wednesday in anticipation of inclement weather

  • April 9th, 2024

Public advised to remain weather-aware in case of service impacts

NEW ORLEANS – Tomorrow, due to the inclement weather and unsafe road conditions, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) offices will be closed to the public.

The RTA will continue to monitor the weather and inform the public if the weather will impact service.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), an enhanced-to-moderate risk of severe weather is predicted to enter the New Orleans area as early as 7 a.m. Wednesday morning and exit as late as 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. Possible threats include damaging winds of 60+ mph, isolated tornadoes, large hail and flash flooding.

According to the City of New Orleans, neutral ground parking restrictions in Orleans Parish will be lifted on Wednesday, April 10, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. The public is encouraged NOT to park across streetcar tracks or impede buses.

For additional information, please call the Rideline at (504) 248-3900, check the Le Pass app, visit norta.com/servicealerts or follow @neworleansrta on X (formerly Twitter).
