New Orleans RTA Weather Advisory for Mardi Gras Day 2025

  • March 3rd, 2025

NEW ORLEANS – Due to anticipated high winds, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) advises riders to prepare for potential service disruptions and route modifications tomorrow.

Sustained winds of 21-22 mph with gusts up to 25-26 mph are forecasted for Mardi Gras Day, March 4, 2025. RTA anticipates the following service changes for tomorrow beginning at 4pm:

  • Ferry Service and Streetcar Service may experience service disruptions

  • Bus (fixed routes) expect detours and disruptions depending on driving conditions, especially on routes that involve bridge crossings. Impacted routes will include: Garden Oaks (114 A/B), General Meyer (103), Lake Forest (61), and Morrison (62).

Rider Recommendations:

  • Stay weather aware and plan for possible service changes.

  • Check RTA’s website (www.norta.com) and mobile app for real-time updates.

  • Call Ride Line at 504-248-3900 for the latest route information.

  • Sign up for RTA text alerts by texting RTAUpdates to 41411

  • Monitor local news and RTA social media for service announcements.

For today, March 3, 3025, ferry and fixed routes will continue to run as scheduled.

Rider and operator safety is our top priority. We encourage all riders to stay informed, and have alternative transportation plans if needed. For the latest updates, visit www.norta.com, call Ride Line at 504-248-3900, or download and utilize our LePass app.
