Regional Transit Authority unveils Ticket Vending Machines

  • April 19th, 2011

NEW ORLEANS - The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) in New Orleans unveils Ticket Vending Machines as the agency continues to modernize and improve service for its riders. These automated machines allow customers to pre-purchase their RTA boarding passes at major transfer and boarding points throughout the city. The RTA’s Ticket Vending Machines are placed along major lines where riders can easily, securely, and conveniently pre-purchase a transit pass.

This will dramatically increase efficiency for riders and for the RTA. The Ticket Vending Machines eliminate the need for exact fare transactions when boarding RTA vehicles. The pre-sale of passes will reduce wait time for passengers and allow the agency to better maintain schedules.

Ticket Vending Machines currently accept cash and coins; credit and debit card purchases will be available in the near future. Passengers can purchase $10, $15 or $20 cash cards or 1, 3 or 5-day unlimited ride “Jazzy Passes”.

The RTA will continuously enhance access to our products and services. The agency also has “Jazzy Passes” available for sale at authorized vendors across the metro area to make riding the RTA even easier.

For more information about ticket vending machines or a complete listing of authorized Jazzy Pass vendors, call the RTA Ride Line Customer Care Center at 504-248-3900 or visit www.norta.com.
