RTA Announces Bus, Streetcar Detours for Crescent City Classic on Saturday, April 4
- April 2nd, 2026
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is advising riders of significant detours and service interruptions across several bus and streetcar routes on Saturday, April 4, due to the Crescent City Classic race.
The Crescent City Classic is one of the largest events in the region, bringing tens of thousands of participants and spectators to streets across the city. As a result, numerous road closures will be in effect along and around the race route.
Because street access and closures will be managed by public safety officials and race organizers, RTA’s detour plans may change throughout the day as streets are opened and closed in real time. Riders should be aware that routes may be adjusted on short notice based on conditions on the ground.
RTA teams will be actively monitoring the situation and coordinating with partner agencies to restore normal service as quickly as possible once streets reopen.
Riders are encouraged to plan and allow extra travel time. For the most up-to-date information, riders should check the Le Pass app, visit NORTA.com or call Rideline at 504-248-3900 for real-time service alerts and detour updates throughout the day.
