- August 14th, 2025
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is keeping the conversation moving with Algiers riders, residents, and stakeholders as it advances the Algiers Service Improvements Project. Building on last week’s presentation at the RTA Riders Advisory Committee (RAC) meeting, the next public meeting will take place today, Thursday, August 14, offering another chance for the community to learn about proposed transit enhancements and shape the future of service in Algiers.
The project’s goal is clear: deliver a faster, more reliable, and better-connected transit network tailored to the needs of Algiers. Potential upgrades include improved frequency, streamlined routes, stronger connections to key destinations, and service adjustments informed directly by rider priorities.

- Time: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Location: Algiers Regional Library, 3014 Holiday Drive

“This project is about listening first and acting with purpose,” said Lona Edwards Hankins, CEO of the New Orleans RTA. “Our commitment to our riders is that we will continuously make improvements to build a transit network that works better for everyone, from daily commuters to students to seniors.
