RTA to Host Public Meeting to Present Design of New Canal Street Ferry Terminal
NEW ORLEANS—The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will host a public meeting to present the design and to gather public input on the new Canal Street Ferry Terminal. The meeting will take place Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the Pisces Room of the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, 1 Canal Street.
The Canal Street Ferry Terminal, located at Canal Street and the Mississippi River, will generate more public access to the river and increased connectivity between modes of public transportation. The state-of-the-art facility will feature new high-speed catamaran-style ferryboats designed to transport over 140 passengers each. The new terminal will be ADA accessible and accommodate bicycles and powered scooters.
All interested citizens are encouraged to attend the public meeting. For more information, please visit www.norta.com, follow us on Facebook & Twitter @NewOrleansRTA, or call the Customer Care Rideline at 504-248-3900.
