RTA To Offer Ferry Service From Canal Street Terminal to Gretna Heritage Festival

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has partnered with the City of Gretna to offer special event ferry services connecting downtown New Orleans to the Gretna Heritage Festival this weekend, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 4-6. The City of Gretna is covering all costs for the additional ferry service.

The ferry schedule for Gretna Fest 2024 is as follows:

  • Friday, Oct. 4: 4 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 5: 11 a.m. – 12:30 a.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 6: 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.

RTA’s regular ferry services at Chalmette and Canal Street-Algiers Point will continue normal operations during this time.

One-way ferry fares are $2 and can be purchased at ticket vending machines or through Le Pass, RTA’s official transit app. A $3 1-Day Jazzy Pass, which offers unlimited ferry, streetcar, and bus rides, is also available.
