- October 3rd, 2025

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) reminds the public that it will provide free bus, streetcar, and ferry rides to all riders thisSaturday, October 4, the second Saturday of early voting, as well as on Election Day, Saturday, October 11, during the 2025 New Orleans election cycle. Fares are suspended these days. This initiative helps ensure that transportation is not a barrier for voters. Riders are encouraged to use the Le Pass app to plan their trip to the polls.
In 2020, the RTA Board of Commissioners approved a resolution, that was thenadopted by the New Orleans City Council to eliminate fares on official election days, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to providing an accessible, equitable transit system for all New Orleanians.
Free Fare Days do not include special event services such as the Gretna Heritage Festival. Standard ferry rates will apply for this service.
