Rampart Streetcar Service Temporarily Suspended for Sewer Repairs
The 46-Rampart line is operating from Union Passenger Terminal (UPT) to the Canal St. Ferry Terminal only.
Bus lines 8-St. Claude-Arabi and 55-Elysian Fields are on detour. See maps below.
Update on the ongoing utility work impacting the 46 Rampart–Loyola Streetcar, 8-St. Claude– Arabi, and 55-Elysian Fields. Updated July 31, 2025.
Here’s what’s happening:
| Previously, a key piece of equipment was installed to support streetcar operations. |
| Currently: Crews are preparing the area for the next phase of work and concrete work will follow. This is one of the final steps before service can resume. |
RTA does not yet have a confirmed reopening date, but updates will be shared as soon as the schedule is finalized.
In the meantime, the 46-Rampart will continue running between Union Passenger Terminal (UPT) and the Canal Street Ferry Terminal. Bus routes 8-St. Claude–Arabi and 55-Elysian Fields remain on detour.
