RTA is waiving transit fares for Election Day, Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023. Riders can ride at no charge on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries. There is no need to prove your voter registration to enjoy the free ride.

In 2020, the RTA Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution supported by the New Orleans City Council to enhance the agency’s mission to continue building a transit network that provides equitable services for all residents.

The RTA fare waiver on identified election days is essential in removing a critical barrier to residents exercising their right to vote.
