New Orleans Regional Transit Authority Announces Increased Service for Thanksgiving Holiday Week & Bayou Classic Weekend

  • November 25th, 2025

New Orleans, LA — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) today announced enhanced transit service across key routes to support the expected surge in local and visitor travel during the busy Thanksgiving holiday week and Bayou Classic Weekend. Beginning Wednesday, November 26 through Monday, December 1, the RTA will provide additional trips on the 202–Airport Express, as well as on the Canal Streetcar Line and the St. Charles Streetcar Line.

To support increased airport travel, the RTA is adding more frequent service to and from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on the 202-Airport Express route during the following days/times:

  • Wednesday, November 26; Sunday, November 30; Monday, December 1
  • 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM

These enhancements will help riders navigate early-morning departures, peak arrivals, and overall holiday travel demand with greater ease.

RTA will also boost service on two of its most iconic and heavily traveled streetcar lines:

  • Canal Streetcar Line
  • St. Charles Streetcar Line

Additional trips will run:

  • Wednesday, November 26 through Sunday, November 30
  • 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

These added hours aim to support both residents and visitors enjoying holiday festivities, shopping, and events throughout the city.

For more information on service or disruptions throughout Thanksgiving week and Bayou Classic weekend, visit NORTA.com, download the Le Pass app, or call the Rideline at (504) 248-3900.
