New Orleans RTA to offer additional Canal Street ferry service to Gretna Fest

  • October 4th, 2022

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has partnered with the City of Gretna to offer an additional ferry service from downtown New Orleans to Gretna Fest. The RTA will operate ferry services from the Canal Street terminal to Gretna Fest from Friday, October 7, through Sunday, October 9, which will provide a convenient option for attendees to get to one of the region’s premier fall festivals.

The RTA is committed to improving regional connections throughout the greater New Orleans area. The agency's recent implementation of a new bus network and the Gretna Fest ferry services highlight that commitment to providing better transit service for local communities and enhancing transit regionalism.

The Canal Street – Gretna Fest ferry service will operate during the three-day festival, leaving approximately every hour and returning 30 minutes after the festival ends.

The Gretna Fest ferry service schedule is as follows:

  • October 7, Friday, ferry service added from 4 PM until 11:30 PM
  • October 8, Saturday, ferry service added from 11 AM until 11:30 PM
  • October 9, Sunday, ferry service added from 11 AM until 8:30 PM

The Chalmette and Canal Street – Algiers Point Ferry locations will operate their regular scheduled hours during this period.

A one-way ferry ride is $2 or $4 round-trip, payable by downloading RTA’s transit application, Le Pass. To learn more about the Canal Street – Gretna Fest ferry services, visit norta.com or call RIDELINE at 504-248-3900.
