Rampart Streetcar Service to Resume Tomorrow
- August 18th, 2025
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will restore full service on the #46 Rampart–Loyola Streetcar line beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, August 19.
Service on the line had been suspended during Sewerage and Water Board construction at N. Rampart Street and Kerlerec Street. With roadway work now complete, the line will reopen on its regular schedule.
“We appreciate the patience of our riders and neighbors along the corridor during this long detour,” said Lona Edwards Hankins, RTA CEO. “The Rampart–Loyola line connects people across our city, and we remain committed to providing safe and reliable service to our community.”
Beginning tomorrow, the #46 Rampart–Loyola Streetcar will operate its full route between the Union Passenger Terminal (UPT) and Elysian Fields Avenue. Bus routes #8 St. Claude–Arabi and #55 Elysian Fields will also return to their normal service patterns, ending temporary detours.
Riders are encouraged to stay up to date on service alerts through the Le Pass app and norta.com.
