RTA Announces 2026 Winter Service Changes Effective January 25

New Orleans, LA — Beginning this Sunday, January 25, 2026, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will officially implement Winter Service, which includes minor route and schedule adjustments on select bus and streetcar lines to improve reliability and make travel more predictable. 

Most notable route and schedule adjustments will be:  

  • Route and schedule adjustments on202 – Airport Express
    • The 202 – Airport Express will now serve stops on Poydras Street from Loyola Avenue to Convention Center Boulevard.
  • Bus routes traveling on Elk Place toward Gentilly, the 9th Ward, and Mid-City willnowonly service the stops listed below. Signage will be installed at each location.
    • Stop: Loyola & Common
      Routes: 51, 52, 53, 57, 91
    • Stop: Elk & Canal
      Routes: 8, 11, 32, 55

Updated schedules and maps are available at norta.com/service, in the Le Pass app, at local libraries, and in the lobby of RTA headquarters at 2817 Canal Street. 

In addition, freezing temperatures are expected in New Orleans this weekend. Transit services may experience delays as operators prioritize safety. Riders should plan for extra travel time and check for updates before heading out.  

Riders can now also use Cash App as a form of fare payment through the Le Pass App, providing an additional convenient payment option.
