RTA Board of Commissioners Advances Three Finalists for Agency’s Next Chief Executive Officer
- August 29th, 2026
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) Board of Commissioners today announced three finalists in the agency’s national search for its next Chief Executive Officer.
The Board convened a Special Board Meeting Saturday morning to interview the five remaining candidates for the position. Following the interviews and deliberations, the Board narrowed the field to three finalists who will advance to the next stage of the selection process:
- Justin Augustine
- Reginald Mason
- Bernard Jackson
Today’s action marks the latest step in the national search launched by the Board earlier this year to identify the RTA’s next permanent chief executive.
“This is one of the most important decisions we will make as a Board, and we are committed to conducting this process thoughtfully and thoroughly,” said RTA Board Chair Ann Duplessis. “Each of these finalists brings significant leadership experience and a perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing public transit . As we move into the final stage of this process, our focus remains on identifying the leader who can best serve our riders, support our employees and position the RTA for long-term success.”
The Board initially authorized a national search for the agency’s next CEO in May. Since that time, the Board has worked through a comprehensive search and evaluation process to identify qualified candidates capable of leading the RTA and advancing the agency’s priorities.
The next CEO will be responsible for leading the RTA as the agency continues its work to improve service reliability, strengthen organizational performance, invest in its workforce and infrastructure, and provide safe and accessible transit for the New Orleans region.
Additional information regarding the three finalists and the next steps in the CEO selection process will be announced as the search moves forward.
