RTA Continues “Roll to the Polls” Campaign, Providing Free Transit on Election Day, Saturday, October 11th
- October 10th, 2025
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) reminds the public that it will provide free bus, streetcar, and ferry rides to all riders on Election Day, Saturday, October 11. This initiative helps ensure that transportation is not a barrier for voters. Riders are encouraged to use the Le Pass app to plan their trip to the polls.
In 2020, the RTA Board of Commissioners approved a resolution, that was then adopted by the New Orleans City Council to eliminate fares on official election days, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to providing an accessible, equitable transit system for all New Orleanians.
RTA also waived fares for both early voting Saturdays, September 27th, and October 4th during this election cycle.
For more information, visit norta.com, download the Le Pass app, or call the Rideline at (504) 248-3900.
