RTA Invites Public Input on Algiers Service Improvements

  • November 13th, 2025

New Orleans, LA — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is inviting Algiers residents, workers, and riders to help shape the future of public transit on the Westbank.

As part of the Algiers Service Improvement Plan (ASIP), launched in August, the RTA is exploring ways to make bus service in Algiers more reliable, efficient, and better aligned with how people travel. Since the project began, the RTA has collected valuable rider feedback and analyzed travel patterns and ridership data.

Now, the agency is sharing the results and proposed service options with the community. Riders are encouraged to review the findings and share their thoughts by attending an upcoming public meeting or completing a short online survey.

Public Meeting Schedule:

  • Tuesday, November 18 | 5–7 p.m.
Depaul Community Health Center – Algiers
    2801 GeneralDeGaulleDr.
  • Thursday, November 20 | 5–7 p.m.
    Heroes of New Orleans
    3712 Anson St.
  • Thursday, December 4 | 5–7 p.m.
    RTA Boardroom
    2817 Canal St.

To learn more about the project, view materials, complete the survey, or provide feedback, visit NORTA.com/Algiers or email algiersservice@norta.com.
