RTA Invites Public to Final Streetcar Modernization Open House Thursday
- September 9th, 2026
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is inviting riders, residents and community stakeholders to attend the final public open house for the Streetcar Modernization Master Plan on Thursday, September 10, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at First Grace Church.
Thursday’s meeting is the second of two final public open houses being held as part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to keep the public informed and engaged throughout the development of the Streetcar Modernization Master Plan. The first open house was held yesterday at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center in Uptown New Orleans along the St. Charles Streetcar Line.
The final open houses provide community members with an opportunity to review the latest recommendations aimed at improving accessibility, safety, reliability and efficiency across New Orleans’ historic streetcar system. Attendees will also see how feedback collected through the project survey, focus groups and earlier public meetings has helped shape the plan.
Feedback gathered during the final open houses will help inform the proposal expected to be presented to the RTA Board of Commissioners later this fall.
