New Orleans, LA – Today, The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) announced that transit operators will no longer enforce its mask mandate on buses, streetcars, ferries, paratransit vehicles, and at RTA facilities. This is due to TSA’s announcement that it will no longer enforce its Security Directives and Emergency Amendment requiring mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs. The RTA, in concurrence with the CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings at this time.
