RTA Public Transit and Ferry Services for the 2017 French Quarter Festival

  • April 4th, 2017

(New Orleans, LA)— The Regional Transit Authority in New Orleans (RTA) offers bus, streetcar and ferry service to serve the anticipated 760,000+ attendees expected for the 2017 French Quarter Festival.  All Festival-goers are highly encouraged to choose public transportation to alleviate congestion and parking concerns.

RTA has over 10 bus and streetcar routes, as well as the Algiers Point/Canal Street Ferry, which provide easy, direct access to Downtown and the areas surrounding the French Quarter. All public transit services will be monitored throughout the event and increased as necessary to accommodate the volume of riders during the French Quarter Festival weekend.

To speed boarding of buses and streetcars, Jazzy Passes can be purchased in advance at local retailers including Walgreens and Unique Grocery. Jazzy Passes can be used for unlimited rides and transfers on all RTA busses and streetcars. Click here to learn more or find a vendor location near you.

RTA’s free GoMobile Ticketing Application also allows you to purchase and activate Jazzy Passes directly on a smartphone. The new Integrated Pass is only available via GoMobile, and it allows rides on all buses, streetcars and ferries all day for only $7.
