RTA Restores Streetcar Service Through Harmony Circle

Carrollton Double Crossover Project Continues
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has restored streetcar service through Harmony Circle, ending the temporary bus bridge that had been operating between Canal Street/Carondelet Street and Erato Street/St. Charles Avenue. Streetcars are once again operating through this section of the St. Charles Streetcar Line following the successful completion of critical track replacement work at Harmony Circle.
The repairs addressed deteriorated track conditions that had affected service on the St. Charles Streetcar Line and mark the completion of the first phase of RTA's connected rail improvement efforts.
Construction on the Carrollton Double Crossover Project is still underway and is currently in its initial construction phase. Located at the Claiborne Avenue terminus of the St. Charles Streetcar Line, the project will relocate sections of rail and overhead electrical wiring to accommodate future Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements at the streetcar stop.
RTA will continue providing updates as work progresses and encourages riders to check the Le Pass app, visit norta.com, or call the RTA Rideline at 504-248-3900 for the latest service information.
