New Orleans, LA — Today, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) officially welcomed Alison D. Bordelon as the newest member of the RTA Board of Commissioners during the agency's regularly scheduled Board meeting.

Bordelon brings decades of executive leadership experience in workforce development, higher education, strategic planning, and public service to the Board. Throughout her career, she has championed initiatives that strengthen Louisiana's workforce, foster partnerships between education and industry, and improve opportunities for communities across the state.

“Commissioner Bordelon understands how to bring people together and move complex work forward,” said Ronald Baptiste Jr., Interim Chief Executive Officer of the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority. “Her experience and leadership will be valuable as we focus on improving service and delivering for our riders. We welcome her to the Board and look forward to working with her.

"I am honored to join the RTA Board of Commissioners and look forward to working alongside my fellow commissioners and RTA leadership to serve the people of New Orleans," said Commissioner Alison D. Bordelon. "Throughout my career, I have seen how strong partnerships and access to opportunity can strengthen communities. I look forward to bringing that experience to the Board and helping improve transit for our riders."

Bordelon previously served as State Director for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) and currently serves on the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights. She also served as Commissioner and Secretary/Treasurer of the BioDistrict New Orleans and has held leadership positions with SkillsUSA Louisiana, the National Maritime Workforce Alliance and the University of Holy Cross.

"Commissioner Bordelon’s extensive experience in governance, strategic leadership and community engagement will strengthen our Board,” said Ann Duplessis, Chair of the RTA Board of Commissioners. “Her ability to unite people around complex challenges and expand opportunities for Louisianans will support our work to improve public transportation throughout the region.

In addition to joining the Board, Commissioner Bordelon was appointed to serve on the Board’s Operations Committee, where she will help provide oversight and guidance on matters related to the agency’s operations and service delivery.
