RTA to Host a Title VI Public Hearing on Algiers Service Improvement Plan

  • January 21st, 2026

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will hold a public hearing to receive community input on the recommendations of the Algiers Service Improvement Plan. The hearing is being conducted in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. If approved, the proposed service changes would take effect on or after September 1, 2026.

The public hearing will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Algiers Regional Library, located at 3014 Holiday Drive, New Orleans, LA 70131.

During the hearing, the recommended transit network will be presented at 12:15 p.m. and again at 1:00 p.m., with time allotted for questions following each presentation.

The proposed service changes would affect the following routes:

  • 103 General Meyer
  • 105 Algiers Local
  • 114A Garden Oaks–Sullen
  • 114B Garden Oaks–Woodland

Information about all proposed service changes will be available online at www.norta.com/algiers and at the public hearing. Members of the public may provide comments verbally during the hearing or submit written comments. Written comments must be received no later than January 24, 2026, to be included in the public record.
