Summer 2026

The Summer ’26 Service Schedule begins Sunday, May 17.

Beginning May 17, the RTA will introduce minor route and schedule adjustments on some lines to improve reliability and make travel more predictable.

Previous Service Changes

Introducing the new and improved 202 Airport Express — providing hourly service between MSY and the CBD, serving the Main Library, Union Passenger Terminal and new stops on Poydras and Convention Center Blvd. Check out the updated route here. The winter service updates will improve access, reliability, and connectivity throughout the RTA system based on rider and operator feedback.

Elk Place stop changes
Bus routes traveling on Elk Place toward Gentilly, the 9th Ward, and Mid-City will only service the stops listed below. Signage will be installed at each location.
Stop: Loyola & Common
Routes: 51, 52, 53, 57, 91		 Stop: Elk & Canal
Routes: 8, 11, 32, 55
Fall changes include minor adjustments to schedules and routes on some lines. Responding to community feedback, this service change brings a requested new stop at DePaul Health Center in Algiers on the 105-Algiers Local bus route.

Streetcar Lines Reopening
46 - Rampart/UPT – With the conclusion of adjacent construction projects, this line will officially reopen for service.
49 - Riverfront – This streetcar line will now run along the river from the French Market to Julia Street. New destinations include the Hilton Riverside, Riverwalk Mall, and Convention Center.

This line will no longer service Canal Street, Loyola Avenue, or Union Passenger Terminal. Reaching these destinations will require transferring.
