NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority Board of Commissioners will consider a resolution tomorrow, September 22, 2026, to add the next-ranked candidate to its CEO search and maintain a field of three finalists. The proposed action follows the withdrawal of one finalist from consideration. 

“The selection of RTA’s next Chief Executive Officer is one of the Board’s most important responsibilities,” said RTA Board Chair Ann Duplessis. “We remain focused on completing a thoughtful process and identifying the leader best prepared to serve RTA’s employees, riders and the New Orleans community.” 

The next phase will include engagement with local transit experts and a community forum on October 26, hosted by transit advocacy group RIDE New Orleans (RIDE). The date is intended to accommodate in-person participation by the finalists. RIDE will provide additional details about the forum within the coming weeks. 

At its October 27 meeting, the Board anticipates entering executive session, as permitted by law, to conduct final interviews. The Board will then return to open session to vote on its selection for RTA’s next Chief Executive Officer.
