Hurricane Preparedness

The Mayor announces mandatory evacuation for the New Orleans area. 

Visitors are shuttled to the airport from the Sheraton and Harrah's. 

Residents are picked up from Evacuspots and taken to the Smoothie King Center. 

The State of Louisiana begins to evacuate residents from coastal regions. RTA service is reduced to assist with evacuation. 

Pick-up at Evacuspots ends. Last evacuees are transported out of the city. 

Airport shuts down. Final preparations for the storm take place. RTA service is suspended. 

Tropical storm winds begin. Hurricane will make landfall within 12 hours.
